Hey there, my name is Julian Pridgen and I'm a candidate for the Office of Bishop in our beloved Zion. I was born and elevated in a area called Whiteville, North Carolina, a little southeastern farming neighborhood situated in the coastal plains of the state. As for church, my family's origins are deeply planted in the St. Mark AME Zion Church, Whiteville, where the Pridgen name is etched in the foundation of that framework today.

My love for Christ and the church is historical as I've served the church from a little boy as an acolyte, usher, aide superintendent of the church school, Christian education, priest, and a lot more. After finishing senior high school, I joined the United States Marine Corps, where I stayed till my retirement. And while in the Marine Corps, I approved the call to preach and served Zion churches in the southwestern Delta Episcopal District and eastern North Carolina.

Over the years, I've thoroughly delighted in serving together with individuals of Zion as we've done the work of the Lord together. And I've been fortunate to serve numerous dynamic and flourishing churchgoers that continue to be fantastic possessions to their areas also today. Together, we paid off financial debts early, earlier than anticipated.

We've gotten acres of land to include a whole city block plus. And in each situation, we've participated in community-related issues that entailed matters of injustice and racism. As I've assisted battling people, as we assisted battling people get on track and assisted others maintain their lives and also expand in their stroll with God.

I'm hopeful concerning the future of our church and think that we can prosper via reliable communication to include little team dialogues at every level of the church, constructive critique for the purposes of sharing and adopting ideal methods that can help us a lot more, be a lot more reliable disciples of Jesus Christ and guardians of Zion Methodism.

I'm very thinking about looking for methods to provide more nurture to pastors and their families. And I am very familiar with the vitality of an outstanding laity and neighborhood church as the laity and neighborhood church are the lifeline to the Zion connection. I'm married to the brilliant, gorgeous, productive, and task-oriented Deborah Register Pridgen, and we have 2 grown-up kids, Julian and Christian, and Christian that lately honored us with Javante, our first grandchild.
